Reporting good news and
answered prayer is always a joy. Bev and Diana returned safely
from the village last week. Bev, with a bit of help from others in the
group, drove the Dodge RAM Pickup 4X4 up and down the mountain
without incident, so once again the truck proves it's worthiness and
durability. They spent 3 nights in our village house and had ample time to
visit with our ranch host family and also attend church on Sunday
with the believers.

For those of you who
sent blankets, shoes and warm clothes, it made a huge
impact with those who received. Bev and Diana were able
to distribute the items to the people we know who need them.

Our solar system
was not working when Bev arrived. It needed maintenance and one
of the young men who accompanied Bev and Diana was
able "fix" the system. So they had lights and power except for the first
night.
Upon returning to
Tepic, Bev met with Faye Taylor Byers, our friend and missionary
who spearheads the evangelical, discipleship, and leadership training
of the believers. We have worked closely with Faye since we
started our work with the Coras. Bev and Diana also attended
the prayer meeting with the staff of La Fuente Church in Tepic and later
met with Senior Pastor Dwight Hansen. These meetings
were timely and
productive regarding policy for participation of short
term teams who want to help us serve our host family and or the
believers of Santa Teresa.
We want to express our
thankfulness to those who pray faithfully for us. The ministry of prayer is of
primary importance to us in our work and enables us to move forward. Secondly,
many gave special gifts while we were in the States to help cover our travel
expenses and the utility trailer we brought here to Manzanillo. It is parked in
front of our home and serving our
dire need for storage. We heartily express our thanks for the
special monetary gifts and for our partners who give on a monthly
or yearly basis. We rejoice that in the last couple of months we have
received word from some new partners who have committed to pray
for us and send financial support on a regular basis. Welcome to
our team!
We want to wish you all
a very special Christmas as the time draws near that we celebrate the birth of
our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our prayer is for a prosperous New Year
and good health for each of you.
Praise and
Prayer
-
Praise for a great
village trip for Bev and Diana and the 4 young people who accompanied
them.
-
Praise for our
Dodge pickup that is serving us very well as our village vehicle.
-
Praise for new
prayer and financial partners.
-
Praise that we are
getting settled in our new home and that it's feeling like home.
-
Pray for provision
for a new set of tires for the Dodge. We plan to go to the village 5
or 6 times in 2006.
-
Pray for Don as he
is recovering from a virus contacted over two weeks ago. Blood analysis
showed it is NOT dengue fever.
-
Pray for the
planned trip to Tepic next week, that Don will be able to work with
Servando on the Cora NT translation for a few days.
-
We will continue to
pray for more new partners to join our team until we have 100% of our
budget needs.
